There are several good climbing areas in the Reno - Carson City area.

Getting There 

From points east, Interstate 80 is best. From Northern and Central California, either Interstate 80 or Highway 50 will do. Interstate 80 will take you past Donner Summit. If you come by way of I80, take Highway 395 south to Carson City. Highway 50 will take you past Lover's Leap, through South Tahoe and into Carson City.

From Southern California, either take Interstate 5 to Highway 50 or Interstate 80. Alternatively, coming up Highway 395 will take you through Bishop and along the Eastern Sierra.

From Las Vegas, take Highway 95 North. Be careful in Beatty, Goldfield and Tonopah (and other small towns along the way), the police there are very diligent in enforcing the speed limits.

The Reno/Tahoe airport is the only place where the major airlines fly into. It is very easy to get in and out of.

There are numerous hotels, motels and camping areas in the Reno/Carson City area.
