Description

A collection of broken rocks, boulders, and pillars varying from boulders to 50' high. The rock is coarse granite, faces south, and is more worth visiting for its novelty than the quality if it's climbing.

Getting There

Off of the very west end of W 4th Street, go under highway (I-80) and take a left (westbound).

Take a right on Cliff View Drive, and enter a neighborhood.

The cliffs and rocks become visible quickly.

As the road curves to the right there is a pull out onto a dirt road by the flume.

Park here.

Several deer trails head up to the rocks.

I climbed here once in early spring and encountered three different rattlesnakes around the crag...two at the base and one on a small ledge while I was rappelling! Jun 18, 2015

Saw a large rattlesnake right at the base of the tallest climb today. Scared the crap out of me. Second time I've seen one here. Too bad cause this is a decently neat area for its proximity to reno. Sep 24, 2012
