Description
A very enjoyable climb, the leftmost on the alcohol wall. Did you arrive to climb the well-acclaimed Naugahyde and find it quite wet? We did, and while this had a little dampness down low, it was an otherwise dry and worthy objective for the afternoon.
Climb Pre-Game and set up a belay here, or just continue to the leftmost line of bolts. The guidebook mentions a "hard-to-read" crux - I think we found the intro climbing of Pre-Game to be the most difficult to read. This climb itself felt more like an endurance marathon, with the pump setting in quickly and haunting you for the few final big lock offs to the chains, despite how often you’re able to shake out.
Climbing it as a party of three, we opted to do it in one pitch from the ground but we left a stick clip at the belay stance to stick clip the second bolt of this route, as the first moves were a bit wet and you might land on the slab if you blow it on the first bolt with a soft catch.
While perhaps not the most egregious, the listed name of this route in the guidebook is from a different era. After a conversation with some others, I’ve just shortened it to The Sunburn here. If someone feels strongly about keeping the listed name, I can just delete this listing and they can post it up.
