Description

Did you know ticks and spiders are related? This previously top roped route follows the line of bolts that diagonals right along the obvious weakness on the right side of the Tick Rock Slab. It has great rock and is probably the best beginner lead in the area.

Location

Begin 30 feet right of the rightmost of two large trees at the base of the Tick Rock Slab.

Protection

13 bolts plus anchors.

Great route! We actually finished on the 9 that starts to the right of Arachnophobia. By the time the 9 route nears the finish, it's about 5.6. Sep 22, 2011
Ken,

Nice job on the route. Tick Rock is a fun slab that I'd like to help document. Do you know what the route just right of this one is called / rated? (It shares the same anchor.) Also curious about the one left that follows a line of bolts up the black water streak. Aug 22, 2010

I think you are probably right on the rating. Aug 11, 2010
This is an excellent route with awesome knobs and rock texture. It seemed significantly easier than, say, Organ Pipes (on the Twin Owls, 5.6). Maybe 5.3? 5.4? Perfect kid route, as long as they can get up the nasty gully approach, or a great first lead for adults (well protected). Jun 25, 2010
