Description

A very nice, airy route, traversing left out over the large recess in the wall between the chaltbach and meteorit sectors.

Pitch 1: 5b, pleasant, steep face climbing on good holds.
Pitch 2: 5b, pleasant traversing pitch, crossing both the Maenner von Memmental and Blauer Kaefer routes, before tucking around into very exposed territory in the giant recess in the wall.
Pitch 3: 5c, magnificent, airy pitch, pleasantly traversing left and up blocky, then pocketed rock. Either stop at the first anchor you encounter to line up for a 6b pitch that takes off from there, or continue traversing left for another anchor.
Pitch 4: choose your own adventure. There is a phenomenally exposed, slightly overhanging 6a below you. which you abseil once to access, and a very lovely, technical 6b above. Whichever one you start with, but make sure to do them both!

Descend by abseiling down the route. Of all the abseils in the chaltbach sector, this one is the most exposed of all.

Location

Pass by the meteorit sector and traverse up and to the right past a giant recess in the wall (there is often a waterfall here). Follow a clear trail up to the base of the rock.

The route takes off to the right of the route Männer von Memmental, and is marked.

With regards to the abseil descent, take note of the comments to the area!

Protection

Very well bolted. No complementary protection required, except perhaps a spare set of underwear to change into after the abseil.
