Description
The large wall comprising the left side of the back of the valley. Dominated by impressive roof systems, the routes that do climb the wall find moderate routes up weaknesses between this otherwise intimidating terrain. Despite not offering a particularly prominent summit, the climbing can be very high quality, Through the Looking Glass and Excelente Mi Teniente are highlights
Getting There
For routes on the right side of the wall, follow the main stream to the left of the bivy area (looking up the valley) until you reach the snow patch/lagoon at the base of some large ramps up to Escudo. From here, hug the wall scrambling up left and you'll immediately reach the left end of the wall. Be warned that while the river can be an unassuming trickle in the morning, the day's heat will melt enough snow to bring it to a much more intimidating flow by afternoon/evening when you return, so be prepared for the deproach to be trickier than the approach.
For the left side of the wall, a difficult to find and poorly marked trail across the river from the main clearing where people sleep can lead you to the Sharks Fin/Pared del Tiempo gully, following this and keeping right will take you to the Espejo/Pared del Tiempo Gully which you can descend to reach the right side of the wall.
