Plainly visible to the West-Northwest of Highway 20 and about 2.5 miles as the crow flies West of Washington Pass, Cutthroat Peak is one of the many accessible granitic peaks in the region.

For the approaches from the southeast side (WA Pass side), park at the large pullout just .5 mile west of the Blue Lake trailhead. As of Aug 2016, there was a large cairn and sticks in the ground marking the trail start. You should be able to see this looking down from the pullout. The coordinates of the trail start are: 48.513388,-120.688167.
