Hpa-An Area Rock Climbing

Information:
Hpa-An is the small town capital of Kayin State, east of Yangon. The area is picturesque, with dramatic karst formations jutting out of the jungle landscape and a seemingly endless supply of new routes to go up. The climbing scene here is still slowly developing, but there are a number of other things to do in Hpa-an. Hiking Zwegabin mountain, wandering through Sadan cave, or watching the droves of bats exiting the bat cave at sunset are a few of the other rest day opportunities to take advantage of in Hpa-an.

Accommodation:
Once in Hpa-An there are a couple of hostel options, but Soe Brothers/Soe Brothers 2 has been particularly climber-friendly and supportive of our efforts to develop climbing in Hpa-an.

Transportation:
For transportation you can easily arrange to rent a motorbike or truck through your guesthouse.

Deets:
Make sure to bring mosquito spray and coils, especially if climbing during rainy season.
