Aug 27, 2025 · Follow. This was a super fun route, minus the last pitch. The last pitch felt pretty hard for a 5.10c and we all had to aid it. The first 5 are absolutely AWESOME climbing. It goes more at 5.10a, 5.9, 5.10a, 5.10b, 5.8, 5.7, and last pitch could be 5.10d or harder with shorter people. The 5.8 pitch is super fun for the grade, with its crimpy chert holds. I loved the climbing on this, will come back again just to do the first 5 pitches. Also be aware, even if its 7 pitches, you can't link any and each are very long (a couple were 35-40 metres), it's pretty hard to tell when there aren't pitch lengths on the description, but the first 5 pitches are quite long. The approach is 20 minutes only and walkoff was 40 minutes, but we spent about 6.5 hours on the wall alone as a party of 3. Quite fun and technical burly climbing.

Aug 20, 2025 · Lead / Onsight. Led pitch 1, super fun, a bit hard for a 5.7 pitch. Found the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pitch really fun. There's lots of stemming on the 3rd and 4th pitch, and the airy exposure on the bulge is really fun on the 2nd pitch. I really enjoyed the climbing on this! I'd do it again. There were lots of loose rocks though, way more than the other routes in this area, like Sharknado and All that Chas, but other than that, it's a great route.

Aug 20, 2025 · Follow. Super great pitch, absolutely loved it! The first 5.9 pitch could be a 10a for people shorter than 5'5, as there is nothing to reach to clear the small roof, but there's okay foot placements, that if there was a jug or crimp, you could easily pull yourself up, sadly I didn't see anything and had to grab the quickdraw. I found the second 10b pitch pretty fun, didn't need to aid it, however, there were a couple traverses, bolt placements are pretty zig zaggy on this pitch, so you're doing some traverses with no feet or just smearing. Other than that, didn't find the 10b pitch super hard, but definitely a fun 10b still. As for the last pitch, its super short, definitely 15 metres. It was easy and could be classified as a hard 5.7. We did the whole thing in 3 hours car to car.

Aug 15, 2025 · Follow. Absolutely loved this pitch, and what an amazing and stellar climb by Brandon Pullan!! I hope he does more like these. Other than a lot of dirt on this route (which should clean up soon I hope), the climbing was quite good. The first two pitches are pretty easy, the third pitch is really fun climbing. The 4th pitch is just a scramble up to the belay station and the 5th pitch was also very fun. The crux 10b pitch (6th pitch) was quite good and burly, I used a lot of fun movements like thumb presses and pulling on two fingers, and doing very high feet. You can aid this pitch if you’re a bit short. The crux on the 10b pitch I found is mostly the dirt, if you can get a good hold (which is still a sloper or 2 finger crimps), it’s filled with a lot of dirt, which makes it slippery and causes you to grip tighter, but fun. Also slipped while following on the 5.8 or 5.9 pitch due to the dirt. We combined the last two pitches, I found the last 10a pitch harder than the 10b pitch, especially the first part, which is pure slab and no smears. I loved this route, found it technical and fun, like a classic Brandon Pullan route, I'm not a fan of power moves, so strongly dislike overhangs and roofs, but loved this one. The part I love most is the very short approach (15 minutes) and the short walkoff (30-40 minutes back to car). Also, every single belay station was super wide and comfy. Great climbing with great approach, 10/10, could use some cleaning up though in terms of dirt. We finished the whole thing in 5 hours car to car, could be shorter if you combine pitches (link 1-2, 3 by itself, 4-5, 6 by itself, and 7-8). We only combined 7-8.

Jul 20, 2025 · Follow. Grades are super sandbagged. It felt more like 5.6, 5.7, 5.7+, and 5.6 I think. Also the approach is BRUTAL, like why does no one talk about this?? It took us an hour and a half to get to Twilight Zone, we went all the way around the plant being built, and the last part is extremely steep with scary loose rocks everywhere. I understand this is the Rockies but it was quite surprising how bad the approach is, given this route is from 1970? Like switchbacks could be made easily. Coming back down that part was worse with us constantly slipping and sending rocks flying down constantly. It was very sketchy and not a climb I’d take anyone on, because their first impression of a Rockies climb would be pretty bad. The climb itself was good, definitely sandbagged but fun, but the approach and walkoff ruined it for us completely, there’s deadfall we have to climb over, big, loose rocks everywhere, pretty scary and hard overall for an approach, and we used two different ways to go up and down and both were equally bad. Won’t be coming back just because of the approach and walk back to the car.

Jul 14, 2025 · Follow. This was a super cool climb, but under no circumstances is the crux a 5.10b/c for anyone under 5’7 or shorter. My 6’0 tall partners had to make very reachy moves for the overhang on the last pitch. As I’m 5’0 tall, this move was close to the high 5.11-low 5.12 range for me since I needed to make about 4-5 moves on the overhang to go up and reach the pocket (my partner put some chalk on it for others to see). You could also make a bolt ladder/aid section here. The biggest crux I’d say was the flies and bees and bugs, like HOLY. I’ve climbed a lot and I was shocked, I saw about 100-200 flies and bees buzzing around, at one point I saw 20 on my backpack (I had no food in there). But they keep bothering you on every belay ledge, during the climb, during the cruxes etc. One flew into my ear under my helmet, the bugs were torture. But other than that (and the grade being significantly harder for anyone under 5’7/5’8), it was pretty fun. Overall short approach, took us 30 minutes, we parked just after the bridge, on the left, I think it’s the same parking lot for the St. Lawrence Grassi hike. Also the amount of large, loose rocks on this climb was pretty bad, bordering on dangerous, since they were right on the route and rappel line and can be easily dislodged. My partner had a nasty cut on his foot when a big rock grazed him, so definitely needs some cleaning.
