Access Issue: CLOSURES: South and East Faces (NW & W Faces Remain Open)
Details
The South Face and access trail is closed from Feb. 1st through July 15th, depending on peregrine falcon nesting. Portland Area Climbers Coalition, Washington Climbers Coalition, and the Access Fund are coordinating on this issue. Disregarding this closure will harm their efforts to adjust it and their relationship with land managers.
The east face is closed to climbing year-round due to possible sensitive/endangered plant species.
The NW face and West face routes remain open.

Description
A forgotten trad line (original FA: possibly, Jim Opdycke in early 90s; 5.10 PG13) has been rescued from oblivion and re-established with addition of two bolts at the top headwall in April 2026. A fun moderate stem box protectable with good gear leads to a tree at mid height and then follows a steep finger crack with marginal aka "typical Beacon rock" protection and two new bolts.
This is the most direct line to the two bolt master anchor on the big ledge for the bottom tier. This anchor is shared with Climbswell Butterflakes and Kingpin routes.
