The east face is closed to climbing year-round due to possible sensitive/endangered plant species.
The NW face and West face routes remain open.
See Closure section below for more details.
The West Side is accessed by a short trail that cuts off to the right from the main Beacon Rock hikers summit trail. Look for a faint path to the right about 30 feet after the "Weed Seed" foot brush station and the very minor railing and bridge. If you hike up the rock, you've gone too far. Hike down to the base of the west side; there is some poison oak near the trail so keep an eye out.
The wall is broken up by one main ledge which is one pitch up. The climbs are listed from left to right when looking at the wall and starting at ground level, then one pitch up and finally any shorter third pitches. Refer to the picture topo to help you sort out route locations. Many of the third pitches can be combined with routes below them for a longer climb.
Lower down on the West Side, Labyrinth (5.8R), can be climbed to access the "Upper West Side" climbs such as Hard Times, Rip City and Lay Lady Lay. However, the upper dihedrals are plagued with poison oak.
