Note that the annual closures of the Park View Dome, The Ranch Hand, Black Creek Wall, and Sawmill Crag have been permanently lifted. These cliffs will continue to be monitored, but will only close if a new nest is spotted.
Description
Warning: a 60m rope just makes it to the ground from the first pitch anchors. If you’re going to toprope the climb, leave a few directionals in the lower part of the climb.
This climb has great views of Pike's Peak, The Dungeon, and Tan Corridor.
These 2 pitches can be climbed as one long pitch, but the rope drag sucks, and lot of draws will needed to belay from the first set of anchors.
The 1st pitch start a few left of the wide crack. Wander up the face. At the overhang, there are three variations right, left, and center. At the overhang, keep left of the bolt to keep it at the 5.8+ level, the center variation is the hardest at 5.10, and right of bolt is 5.9+/5.10-. Be CAREFUL, as there is a slab below. Continue up the face to the anchors with Mussy hooks.
The 2nd pitch is 55 feet. Wander up the face to a set of anchors. There are no Mussy hooks yet.
Location
It is in the middle of the wall. About 40 feet uphill of 12 Bildung, you’ll see a wide crack with a tree. Look for bolts just left.
