Golden Gate Canyon is a State Park and a $10 (2021) fee is required for entrance. Cash/Check only accepted; Self serve kiosks exist throughout the park. Annual passes can be purchased for $60.

Description

Begin on the featured face left of the obvious main crack (5.6). Step across the corner into the main crack (5.7). Climb it! The first move in the crack is the hardest (5.7+). Follow the crack to a broad ledge (5.7). This is where climbers from Men in Masks may opt to join the route to avoid a difficult 5.9/10 finish. From here, climb the right side of the imposing bulge above you (5.6). Watch your head on the boulder above as you complete a short traverse to the anchors. A direct start up the main crack on this route is very fun but pushes the grade to 5.8.

Location

Use the approach for Dude’s Throne, then continue (south) past it to reach the base of Quarantine Wall. Find a left-facing corner with a minor overhang to the right of it.

Protection

A standard rack up to #3s with a few smaller cams and nuts will suffice for all routes on Quarantine Wall, the smaller subdivision of Dude’s Throne that contains Social Distancing and those to its right. A fixed nut can be found at the top of this route.
