Description
This small continuation of the rock band which houses more popular Dude’s Throne is home to a collection of easy and moderate trad, toprope routes. Home to the only climbs easier than 5.9 at “The Throne”, this area is perfect for families but also has some fun 10s to challenge more moderate climbers. The tops of the climbs all come too soon. They are short but sweet.
Getting There
Walk to Dude’s Throne, then continue another few minutes up boulders to reach a tree. Turn right at a tree, and continue right along the base of the rock and until reaching a narrow notch formed by a large boulder and the wall. Social Distancing through Mortality Rate are along the wall before the notch, with Quarantine Machine and Pulmonary Pain around the corner. All routes depend on trad anchors that can be set from the top of the rock band. The easiest way to reach these anchors is from the south side, squeezing through the small notch between a large boulder and the wall, then scrambling east past Pulmonary Pain, or continuing south and looping around the end of the rock band. Once above it, continue up the hill for several steps and scramble up some boulders to the top (Class 3/4). Once there, just know you are above a cliff. The north side of Quarantine Wall also provides opportunities for getting up or down but is trickier and slightly more exposed.
