Tunnel 1 closure
For more details visit: jeffco.us/open-space/alerts…
The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.
Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:
Blonde Formation
Bumbling Stock
Evil Area
Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden
Fault Caves
Description
A few crimps up a left-leaning, overhanging panel lead to big moves and a semi-respite at an alcove. Clip bolt 3 here, and head up the clean white panel above with some cool toe hook beta available. Reach right to clip bolt 5, and struggle up the easy looking final groove.
The start is a little contrived.
For full credit, begin on flat rock, but if, like me, you can't get off the ground, scramble a couple of feet up the ramp, and start on the crimp rail below bolt 1.
Consider stickclipping bolt 2. If you blow that clip, you may hit the ground.
Location
Currently this is the left most route at Fiscal Cliff and likely to remain so unless true choss appeals to some developer. It shares a start with Planetary Mirror on a left-leaning, overhanging panel.
