The BLM Taos Field Office implemented a Climbing Fixed Hardware Authorization Process for routes within its land management area. This includes walls in the Taos Gorge Area and at Diablo Canyon. Description
Climb shared line to left edge of roof, work the dihedral right above you. No fixed anchors, walk off. Thin protection at times.
Location
When walking up from parking lot, there is a huge boulder on your right before the main wall. To the left there is an easy well traveled 15' line leading to 4 different routes (Chimney Route, Rope a Dope, Deception, and Trapeze). The shared line goes left after you hit the left edge of a roof.
Deception is the dihedral between Rope a dope face and a thin crack.
