Description
Maitiki is on the far left side (and always pretty shady due to tree cover) of the right section of the cliffline. Like all the routes at the camp, you will find its name in red paint at the base of the climb.
The difficult climbing on Maitiki starts pretty much right off the ground and involves working a technical layback feature intermixed with a few face holds. In general, your defacto positioning is a hard left hip into the wall. Body english and a few deadpoints will get you through the sustained crux section. More than likely you'll be dripping in sweat by the time you reach the short horizontal roof at the end of the climb (just left of the roof pull on Cafe Bolan). Have no fear though, the moves are pretty easy just make sure you manage the sweat factor accordingly.
