Description

Start beneath the obvious, scary boulder and clamber up on to it from the left side. Make a couple cruxy reaches off of the boulder, and cruise to the top following the crack. The majority of this route, excluding the belay, remains in the shade until midday.

Location

On the separate, roofed panel of rock to the right of the Bank Rob area, this is the first bolted line on the left. Scarface starts beneath a scary boulder, climbs over it, and finishes in the left-facing corner above.

Protection

9 bolts plus bolted anchors.

The "scary boulder" only looks scary, but it's as solid as it could ever be. Several folks have tried to remove it with crow bars, but it didn't budge. No safety concern whatsoever. Feb 17, 2014

As other have noted in ticks, the "scary boulder" is gone. Jan 20, 2018

Something's funny here. I could only find a tough pinch/cross to get past the hard move, and it felt harder than .10d. Maybe it has something to do with the "boulder" coming down.... Mar 26, 2018

Maybe I'm missing something, but this felt much harder than .10c. Apr 17, 2018
