Description

Just left of the dihedral with D's Dry Dream on its right face is a bolted line that takes off in a shallow, inverted V-slot. Surmount a bulge on jugs and run up to the anchor shared with the route on the left. This line has fun moves, and while the rock looks dubious to start, it has climbed quite well with no hint of things reefing off. Still, it needs a date with Mr. Brush.

If you wait too long to exit the chimney onto the face, you will find yourself pulling and/or stepping on a completely detached, rectangular block on the right side as you exit straight up the chimney. It is sitting mostly flush on a flat ledge that is larger than it, and it seems unlikely to come down unless someone applies a lot of force to scoot it off the ledge, but beware! The wobbling is scary as shit. Apr 23, 2017

Fun route. I enjoyed this unique NTM line, it seemed more "adventurous" that other Golden routes. Apr 10, 2011

Hmm, I thought I liked chimneys. This one... not so much. I too got my gear loop caught on the second clip scared the shit out of me. This climb felt like every bolt was behind you. Mar 4, 2010

Once you find the key foothold in the bottom, this route becomes loads of fun. Our leader made the step out of the chimney onto the left face look delicate and scary. I did it 3 feet higher and it was super easy. This was a great little climb.

I did have my belay device pop off a gear loop and fly out and down the hill below. Make sure your gear is on good in this chimney!! Oct 19, 2009

It's still a little dirty but fun if you like to chimney. I managed to clip one of my gear loops to the second bolt quickdraw as I moved past. Never had this happen in 29 years of climbing! Oct 13, 2009
