There are two routes called “giant’s staircase” in Oregon about an hour from each other. They are some of the first routes I climbed outside and I assumed for a long time that it was a common route name as it seems obvious but apparently it’s just those two. I still find that a bit strange. |

City of Rocks has lots of names used elsewhere, but dunno if they are common, or not. Drawing a blank to hunt up any past Wheat Thin, but someone beat me to that one. Maybe I missed it but Stairway to Heaven. MP shows 126 routes. What’s the most common route name that crosses climbing disciplines? Trad, ice, boulder, sport, aid, etc? |

I’ve named two routes “Eldorado” One on the Devil’s Dancefloor in Yosemite for the 6 ft roof it surmounts, reminiscent of the Redgarden wall roof, and one in SD County for its sideways holds and reddish brown, super fine grained granite. |
