Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

On the upper north and northwest aspects of Cap Rock are a handful of climbs. The northeastern (left) routes (like Lil Squirt) are best approached by scrambling up from the vicinity of the Beaver Boulder. The rightmost (western) routes (like Circus) can also be approached from the main Cap Rock parking lot. From the parking lot, follow the base of the cliff around left toward the road intersection, then ascend boulders to reach the routes in this area.

Getting There
