Warning Access Issue: RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas such as CAT WALL and RESERVOIR WALL in Indian Creek DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

These mostly north facing walls feature crack and face climbing on decent Mill Creekified Curtis (?) sandstone.

Half sarcastically deemed the coldest cliff in North America, the walls do stay relatively cool, with many routes getting at least half-day shade.

You'll probably want some gear if you're gonna lead anything, even if only climbing the "sport" routes.

There's still room for development here too, if you're into that sort of thing.

Getting There Suggest change

At a big pullout on the La Sal Loop Road by some powerlines, take the dirt road and turn left at the faint wye. If you don't have high clearance to drive the road, park at the big pullout...30 minutes with very little elevation gain/loss. Location marker is on the 'shwacky gully between the Iron Curtain and East Berlin crags. The bottom of the Iron Curtain wall can be accessed via this gully. East Berlin is best accessed by rapping directly into the crag, then exiting via a 5.easy line at the far east side of the wall (there's a fixed line...don't forget your chest ascender)
