Description
This region consists of the climbing that exists to the west of Hwy. 7 between Dover and Deer. It is home to the Big Piney River, a large, beautiful river with turquoise hue. It is well known for it's recreation (both fishing and floating in some parts), as well as it's pristine swimming holes. The climbing that exists in the region is varied: plenty of newer or underdeveloped bouldering areas, some classic trad lines, and varied styles of sport climbing over a large geographic area.
Rock Creek
The states most recent development of hard quality rock climbing. It's gorgeous semi-remote location offers some of the best bolt clipping the south has to offer. Large abundance of quality routes in the 5.11-5.13 range here.
Getting There
Approaching from the south (I-40), you will either want to take Hwy 7 north from Russellville (if traveling from the east) or Hwy 123 east from Clarksville (if traveling from the west). How you approach from the north will be more dependant on the area you are traveling to, so please refer to the directions on the individual areas' pages.
