Description Suggest change

Hidden Hollow is a a great remote backcountry crag if you are looking for solitude. The cliff is a multi pitch venue with a wide range of grades on beautiful granite. It suffers from a little seepage in early spring but is a fine location to escape the crowds on a nice fall day.

Getting There Suggest change

Hidden Hollow is on the same ridge line as Found Ledge and the easiest approach is by hiking out to the Lumberjack wall at found. Matt Ritter had a great description for getting to found ledge so lets start here:

https://www.mountainproject.com/area/107349966/found-ledge

Once at Found hike past the Little slab and up the step hill to the Lumberjack wall. Follow along the wall to its end and you will see a bolted slab to access the top. walk straight down hill from this slab to a large pine tree. ( Edit Note- it is fairly reasonable to contour around to the huge pine tree from Little Slab; no real need to climb Up to Lumberjack and then Down to the tree. R Hall )  Once in the area of the tree, Look to your right for pink flagging**. follow the flagging to the cliff crossing several old logging roads and drainage gullies. The final bit of the approach goes up a steep gully and hillside, landing you at the base of Hidden Hollow about 40-45 min after leaving your car. (life hack: there is service at Lumberjack wall. you can open google earth and contour the hillsides till you get there)

** Even in 2019 the flagging was pretty scarce and infrequent. We did our best to add “natural” markers (cairns and straight branches on the ground) and to clear the path we took on our return to the car, but it is not a well trodden path! R Hall
