Description

Boulders on this side are more easily accessed via Laurel Lane. This area contains many classic problems and includes probably the best moderate circuit on Cape Ann (The Storm, Elephant in the Room, Wonton Soup, American Dream, Genesis, and Total Recall). There are also good climbs in the lower range scattered in this area and a few projects. If you like slab problems, check out Wonton Soup and the maybe unrepeated Old Timer testpiece Modern Warfare.

Getting There

Park politely at an obvious dirt roundabout near the end of Laurel Lane. Do NOT block the gate, and do NOT drive past the gate (if it is open). Walk up the dirt road. A couple hundred yards after the second gate a path goes off right to access the Trailside, Shoreline, and Split Boulders. If you keep on the road after a few hundred yards, look down the slope on the left for the Storm Boulder.
