Description
Shady, riparian, and absolutely beautiful. While mainly popular among hikers, Cold Springs Canyon offers excellent bouldering on stunningly good stone. Probably the best rock in SB. Problems are generally not concentrated in groups and tend to be loosely scattered as you walk up the canyon, but there's a great range of moderates and a handful of brick-hard lines. Think of it as a buffet of delicious delicacies, in which you have to walk from course to course. Yum.
The climbing in Cold Springs is divided in to two general sections. The lower canyon includes everything from the trailhead to The Suspended Boulder, and the upper canyon includes The Bay Tree Boulders, and everything above those blocs towards Tangerine Falls.
