Description Suggest change

A nice sport crag leaning towards routes in the 10-12 range. The east side is generally sunny and has several nice rocky areas to set up a base. The northwest side is more heavily wooded and shady, and can get muddy and wet if there's been rain. There are generally a few regulars on weekends who can help point out routes and offer beta.

Getting There Suggest change

Most likely, you will be traveling from Nayoro, which is an hour train ride north of Asahikawa. From Nayoro you'll want a car. Head east on the 239 towards Okoppe and look for a bridge in Naka-Nayoro. If you hit Shimokawa, you've gone too far. There is a really shoddy bus shelter at the turn-off.
Cross the river on this bridge and take the first left (there's a small road that runs down to the river as well, you don't want that). If you crossed the right bridge, there will be a gravel pit at this point. Follow this road west and north for a bit through some fields. You'll cross three bridges; turn right to follow the river after the third one. This will shortly take you to a big gravel pit operation. Drive through like you belong there and follow the road straight into the woods (it will turn to gravel). A short ways into the woods you'll come across a locked car gate. Try some obvious number combinations or park at the gravel pit and hike in. Follow the road a bit past the gate and you'll come to a clearing, probably with cars parked. The entrance to the trail is marked with pink tape and is on your left as you come into this lot. The crag is a ten minute hike.
