Description
Big slabby granite walls. Includes Roan Wall, The Illusion Wall, and Martha's Place (a huge boulder).
The Northern Section includes the ultra-long "Slab Daddy".
Waterfall Basin has the classic "Roan Wall" and a boulder with sport routes on it.
Part of the Darrington climbing area, the Squire Creek drainage has a number of different features or “walls”.
The largest of them is Squire Creek Wall…singular, no plural… see Cascade Alpine Guide.
Getting There
From Highway 530 in Darrington, turn south on Madison Ave and follow it to a T, then turn right onto Darrington Street. This becomes Squire Creek Road, which is followed to its end. The Squire Creek walls can all be approached from the Squire Creek trailhead at the end of Squire Creek Road. Different walls have turn-offs at various points along the trail with the trail to Waterfall Basin being the last turnoff before the trail heads south out of the valley to Squire Creek Pass.
