Description

Use the "Guide to the Emeralds" in the photos section of the main Emeralds page or "North Tahoe, A Rock climber's Guide" by Josh Horniak to find information on this area. This area was developed December 2012 and contains 12 bolted sport climbs. This area is approximately 75 Yards north of the Kudos Cliff which is documented in Mike Carville's 1991 Tahoe Guide. The area sees afternoon sun. (upper fast food wall goes into the sun at about 2pm, in the middle of the summer, and the lower wall a little earlier. As it gets later in the year the area stays in the shade much longer) Fast Food Wall (and all the Benches area) are not subject to flooding like the Gorge area.

Getting There

From I-80, exit onto Hwy. 20 and drive four miles toward Nevada City. After 3.5 miles turn north onto Bowman Lake Rd. and drive for 1.3 miles. Just before the bridge that crosses the Yuba River there is a dirt access road, pass thru the locked gate and walk in. After walking 750 yards on this dirt road you will see a cairn on the right, take this trail, (you will pass many careens on the right but to find the correct trail pace out 750 yards or, If you come to a clear flat area that has many piles of PG&E of rocks, you have gone 200yds too far. Continue on this trail for approx. 200 Yards (you will pass a metal bench on the right) to where the goes uphill. this point might be difficult to locate, people have put many careens here and I put a sign that people keep removing. Continue on this trail to access the Fast Food Wall.
