Description

This wall has long been mostly disregarded. In the Thomas Kelley guidebook the topo described an all traditional area with three (5.10's) and a (5.9+). I'm assuming the rebolting project in the 90's led to some of these routes getting the retro bolt face lift.

Either way not a lot of people climb this wall. I cleared out the briars from under the start of the two sport routes cliff left of The Arborist on Red Wall.

Getting There

From Davids Castle Wall follow the trail leading cliff right. The easiest way is to find The Arborist(5.10) on Red Wall. Rising Sun Wall is cliff left.

According to Gus, the FA on those sport routes, The Flyby is a link up of the dihedral of Doug's Ask Mr. Science, and then the bolt line of Tom Waits...but everything is squeezed in so tight in there that to me personally it's too close to call it a separate line. Feb 25, 2013
Great climbs on the Wall the anchor is at the top right above a roof. I have mentioned the climb no weight added to a couple of people is it also known as Flyby? Thanks! Feb 24, 2013

Ask Mr. Science actually starts closer to Red Wall, although it was lumped together with Rising Sun in the Kelley Guide. The 3 5.10's used to have a fixed anchor at the top, but I couldn't find it. Oringally they stopped on the ledge, but w/o the anchors it makes the most sense to continue to the top and then walk off left down the gully. Jun 18, 2012
