Description
Bastionata di Boragni is one of the larger and longer crags in Finale Ligure sporting around 175 routes at grades for every talent level. A popular venue especially during the warmer months.
Variety of climbing with cracks, corners, pockets, drip formations, tufas, overhanging roofs, and steep slab on mostly single pitch routes.
This area is noted for shady climbing at the base, under the tall trees, which provide welcome shade during summer season. The east facing aspect also provides shade in the afternoon.
Around 10 sectors, the ones on the main Bastion broken into left, center and right crags:
Bastionata Settore Sinistro
Bastionata Settore Centrale
Bastionata Settore Destro
Off the main wall, lying below the Bastion are:
Avancorpo
Il Pilastro
Sasso Scorpion
Sasso Crazy Brothers
The sector back behind and to the left of the main Bastion is also a popular hiking destination due to the cave there:
Grotto della Strapatente
While theres something for every ability at Boragni, this area really caters to classics in the 6 and 7 grades with a few exceptional 5s thrown in as well.
In addition to climbing, this area is popular for mountain biking and trekking. The small local towns are worth a stroll through, too!

Getting There
From the beach, drive through Calvisio and take the split in the road towards Orco.
Just prior to the village of Boragni is a small parking lot under the Avancorpo sector.
Just past the small town of Boragni (towards Orco), at the first hair pin turn in the road, theres parking on either side of the road for the main climbing areas. This lot has a crag overview sign.
