Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

This formation is on your left as you hike down the wash from Wonderland Valley towards Lenticular Dome.

The formation is named for TV attorney Perry Mason. The Perry Mason character was developed by writer Erle Stanley Gardner. Gardner was a friend of Bill Keys (of Keys Ranch in the park) and ultimately helped get Keys out of prison for killing Worth Bagley.
