Description
Pep Boys Crag is a bit nondescript, but is located just southeast of the distinctive Milepost, which sits right next to Quail Springs Road. There is a paved pullout next to the Milepost that is used for access to Playhouse Rock, the Cathouse, Pep Boys Crag, Dihedral Rock, Glory Dome, et al.
There are climbs on many different aspects of Pep Boys Crag - some face the road (N and NE aspects), some face south toward the Cathouse and the Real Hidden Valley.
Getting There
This formation is close to Quail Springs Road, on the southwest side of the road. The parking pullout is about 3/4 mile southeast of the intersection with Lost Horse Road.
From the pullout by the Milepost, depending on what you plan to climb, you will either follow a path southeast (toward Dihedral Rock and Hidden Valley) or take a separate path south (as for the Cathouse).
The routes that face the road are generally in the sun in the morning. The routes that face the Cathouse are generally in the sun in the afternoon.
