Description
Neighbor Of Putterman is the spur of rock that used to connect the House of Putterman with the rest of the rock in the canyon. It lies directly west of the House of Putterman. The majority of the climbs on this cliff face north, so winter climbing is sometimes a little chilly, but summer offers the perfect combination of shade and sun. There are plenty of great handcracks and liebacks, but anchors are scarce so be creative!
Getting There
When approching this formation, branch right from the Merrimac Butte sign in the wash and follow the 4x4 trail into the canyon. The House Of Putterman will be on your left side. Zig-zag up the scree hill to the base of the House of Putterman and walk 50 yards to the west, staying on the north side of the formation. You will see on your left side the first route, Puttermans Big Toe. This is a great right facing hand-sized dihedral.
