Description Suggest change

 [ NO PERMIT REQUIRED ]

This is the route furthest uphill inside The Alcove. Follow the left most bolted line to a large bulge. The crux will be climbing the right side of this bulge (5.7+). From the bulge continue following the left most bolted line up steep rock with lots of features that make fun 5.7 climbing. Continue left of the large belay ledge to the top of the East Ridge or end at the belay ledge.

This route can be toproped using the first set of bolts on the west side of the East Ridge. These anchors are about three feet below the top of the ridge. Another option toproping from the large belay ledge. From the top of the East Ridge rappel about 30-40 ft to the belay ledge from the second set of bolts on the west side of the East Ridge.

Location Suggest change

Leaving the main trail below Scorpion's Tail follow a steep scramble trail up into The Alcove formed where the East & West ridges intersect. At present there are three routes climbing the west face of the East Ridge without belay pads. Belayers will need to be creative.
