No permits required.

Wailing Dog can be climbed in single pitch, but can also be broken up into 2 to 3 pitches. Can also be toproped on a 70m rope.

Pitch 1&2: 5.10c/d variation - Begins with 8 ft scramble to first bolt. Approx. 30 feet of 5.6 climbing on 2 to 3 bolts to first belay ledge or continue through. From first ledge there are two bolted lines left line follows 5.10c/d layback followed by a 5.10c thin crack & mantle ending at next large belay ledge. OR, 5.10a/b variation - from 2nd bolt off belay ledge climb right edge and up to the thin crack & mantle move above.

Pitch 3 (recommended belay to reduce drag): 5.10d variation - after first bolt off belay ledge climb right bolt line to top steep slab. OR, 5.9 variation - from first bolt off belay follow left bolt line up arete and into large heco. Climb out left side of the large heco following bolts to top out.

Locate first bolt 8 ft up  on right side of wide chimney, right side at bottom end of the East ridge.

Protection Suggest change

Fixe SS glue-ins bolts.
