Most of the 14-acre property at Hanging Mountain has been designated as Priority Habitat by MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP). As a result, Hanging Mountain and any work performed there is heavily regulated to ensure that the WMCC is in compliance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act and Wetlands Protection Act.

Description
This is an adventure route for sure. Follow the mega flake, and pull yourself into the wide. The flake in the beginning is pretty full on, and the wide crack above was the crux for me. Traverse out right through the roof, and mantel over the top to the bolted anchor.
There was really only one spot for the 6, and I would have much rather had two size 5s.
Although the gear is G rated, I found that there was a fair amount of choss in the wide. I could be mistaken, but the upper block that takes the size 6 vibrates a bit…. Climb with caution.
Location
We accessed the climb from the Living in Limbo anchors. You can climb any of the routes to the mid cliff to access the wide crack though.
