Description Suggest change

I am posting this as the guidebook currently lists this as an Open Project, and it is now sent.

Sharing an anchor with Man-Eater, Stigmata tackles the brutal, shallow seam and dihedral straight up the face. The crux hits after the second bolt and isn't over until your hands are in the crack above the fourth (protect with basically any cam #0.4-1, a #0.5 or #0.75 would let you place it from the great stance before committing to the stand-up). The climbing above is much easier but still thoughtful. Imagine The Walking Dead but without any decent holds nor 40 of your closest friends and general passerby around to cheer you on and 2 full letter grades harder.

Some edges may continue to crisp up, but this is in pretty good shape as of now. For a true sufferfest, carry a few extra trad pieces, just clip the non-Mussy bolt of the anchor, and take it to the top of the formation via Narrow Escape.

Location Suggest change

It is right in the dead center of the formation.

Protection Suggest change

7 bolts and an optional (but *highly* encouraged) cam between #0.4-1.

Behind The Name Suggest change

Courtesy of the southwest-facing aspect of Man-Eater Wall and the collection of water and dirt in what was a weakness that led to the enormous block you belay off of falling off, this route was coated in lichen. I spent a full day scrubbing this thing down, and at the end of the day, I had blister-type holes in the palms of both hands.
