Description
Climbs the deep groove from a tree ledge to a large tree. Traditionally 4 pitches, if you stop before the steep changing grooves section, cruz. But can be done in 3 without much rope drag. Gear belays. The upper section of the lower groove for pitch 3 is full of dirt and pine needles, hard to protect (30ft run out) but easy, although awkward, terrain.
Rapell the big tree then continue down the last 2 bolted rap stations of Pressure Wave. Class 4 scramble left back to the tree ledge
Location
Starts on a tree ledge, about 50 ft around the corner below and left of the 'white scar" of the upper start to Gemini Cracks.
Can be accessed by a 4th class traverse from the start of Gemini (just below the white scar), or by approaching from the left of the tree ledge. Both options require some 4th class exposed scrambling.
