Access Issue: IMPORTANT notes on Wet Rock and Human Waste Details

WET ROCK: The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IN RED ROCKS DURING OR AFTER RAIN. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery bone-dry sand), then do not climb. There are many alternatives (limestone, granite, basalt, and plastic) nearby.

HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.

Description

I noticed some lead bolts and anchors to the left of Bighorn Buttress so we returned to climb it. Decided to put it on MP and give it a name. Please lmk if there's any objections or corrections.

Pitch 1 - We started as for the right-facing corner of Bighorn Buttress and then traversed up and left on flakes and face climbing. 3 closely spaced bolts lead into a chimney finish to a ledge and a bolted anchor (33 meters, 5.10-).

Pitch 2 - Move left to a steep crack to a brief slab section (little spicy) and up to a featured crack then move right to a bolted anchor (can continue on for the next pitch but drag may be an issue. (12 meters, 5.8).

Pitch 3 - Climb up and right on flaring, slippery cracks (harder than it looks) to a small roof with a bolt. Surmount this to 2 more bolts, some gear, and 2 more bolts on a featured face. Anchor is at a stance right of a chimney system (32 meters, 5.10b).

Pitch 4 - Stem left over the chimney to a thinner crack on a low angled face. Up this and then right to a bolt, upwards on moderate terrain to another bolt, then up a dirty hand crack to a bolted anchor (33 meters, 5.7).

Pitch 5 - Climb up on a low angled crack / face with poor protection (5.6) to a steeper wall. Clip a fixed chain anchor with an annoying oval biner and then climb up and right on a steep, featured crack to a ledge. Climb up and left on a low angled face to a chain anchor (5.10b, 25 meters).

Descent: 4 rappels with a single 70 meter rope down the route.
