Natty Dread

This was my first aid line and lead fall. Ryan and I hatched a plan to aid Dreadlock Rasta. Back then, there weren't photos of climbs, just descriptions. In our haste and enthusiasm, Ryan and I got on this thing, thinking it was Dreadlock. We did it in 2 sections. I did the start to the horizontal, then lowered off, and Ryan took over and finished it off. Armed with a hook, a few pins, stoppers, a cam or 2, and a set of homemade aiders, I took off up the seam, placing everything that looked like it might keep me off the ground. Just below the horizontal, standing on the hook about to put a cam in the crack, the hook blew, and then a pin. Fate would have it; the worst-looking Stopper placement kept me from hitting the ground.  When everything stopped, I was faced Ryan about 5 feet off the ground. So I shook it off and got back on it. This time, I ensured I got an excellent tone with the pin and a good hook placement, made it to the horizontal, and lowered off. In true foreman style, Ryan continued traversing left, connecting to the original line, and then blasted straight through the roof, placing some very thin pens.
