Description Suggest change

The Salmon runs up the left side of Salmon Slabs and uses the horizontal breaks for “protection”. While some of it is good enough for a fall, most of it shouldn’t be tested.

While the lower moves can be dialed to “no-fall”, the upper section is so technical and difficult and so few climbers exist above the grade, it would be hard to entertain many could wire it where the gear below was not in the back of your mind.

The Salmon does not utilize the Arete like Jetrunner, but heads out at 2 O’clock after the last horizontal break. Pebbles, pockets, and the idea of pockets guide the line there on.

Johnny Dawes sure added some spice to this Salmon dish.

Location Suggest change

Left side of Salmon Slabs which is down and right of the Upper Tier’s Undercut Buttress. If approaching from below the big C of curving crack should be easily visible. This is Salmon Slabs.

Protection Suggest change

Micro cams and nuts, cams up to BD1-2-3.
