Sam Trimboli on Lunar Eclipse 5.12a Suggest change

Start on juggy lower angled features. Climb past 7 bolts through a gradually steepening headwall. Staying on the bolt line takes you to the climbing crux of vertical crimping finish-moves, mono pockets, and such. This direct finish is 5.12a.

Location Suggest change

Lunar Eclipse is the first route encountered as you approach on the right side of Moon Rock.

Protection Suggest change

7 bolts to an anchor set well back after you top out on the formation. A fairly sharp cliff edge is passed in order to reach the anchors set back about 15 ft. from the top out. Rappelling will reduce the chance of your rope getting chewed if being lowered here by your belayer.
