Tunnel 1 closure
For more details visit: jeffco.us/open-space/alerts…
The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.
Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:
Blonde Formation
Bumbling Stock
Evil Area
Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden
Fault Caves
Description
Start as for "Fire In The Sky." Once the small crimps on the face above are gained move right into a slopy gaston with your right. Next pull like mad into a left handed (moon shaped) side-pull/crimp. Working with terrible foot placements, pop out right to a crappy side pull then quickly move your right hand again to gain a better pinch. Setup the feet and blast up with either your right or your left (move still not done!!) to snag a good but small crimp!!! Then desperately toss onto the jugs above and climb them to the top-out!!!
This will be a desperate line for sure!! Who ever gets the F.A. just let me know and I will post the name you have chosen if you decided to change the project reference name. Happy hunting!!
