Description

This lines begins with a few thin moves up to a right facing layaway flake. Pumpy barn door climbing up the flake lead to fun continuous climbing to the anchors, just into the final bulge.

Location

Located towards the left side of the Wilds, the third line to the right of the left facing corner. Sandman is just right of Tooth Fairy and easily picked out via the right facing arcing flake.

Protection

6 or 7 bolts to anchors.

Great variety of climbing - tricky layback flake down low to pockets on upper section. Cruxy move up top felt hard for grade, but may have missed an easier sequence. Climbed it early season as flake seems to house a wasp nest later in the summer/fall. May 26, 2014

When Jim and I put up this route, there was a huge amount of sand coming down the layback flake. It took a few days to get all the sand out and in good condition, hence the name. We put up Tooth Fairy the next few days, using this name to keep a theme with sandman. Jul 4, 2014

even early spring, if the sun is out there will be a swarm of wasps. They don't seem to mind you climbing through them, but it might throw you off your game a bit. May 4, 2018
