Description

Climbs the right side of the varnished buttress. (right side of the southeast face of the Crypt) Begin by stemming up a groove then climb the face past 3 bolts. 2-bolt belay/rap anchor. 60 feet. Maybe one star out of five for the nice patina on the upper half of the route.

Protection

I used a medium nut between the first and second bolts.

Felt a bit hard for 5.8+ at the second bolt. Arthritis, maybe, 5.8+ maybe not. Nov 20, 2016

You can avoid the really bad rock at the bottom by stemming up the litte chute on the right to reach the first bolt. Apr 28, 2005

Rock before the upper patina is crap. I stepped on a knob which broke under my weight. Fun moves up higher. Apr 26, 2005
