Longest wall/route in each state?

girdle traverses simply do not count. They are fun distractions once all the bottom of the cliff to the top of the cliff routes have been done but they are the sit down problems of roped climbing.

Cincinnati area to California and back, 6000 miles. Took about 5 weeks, it was a vacation. It was mainly to visit national parks. Painted Desert/Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands and some other side trips like Mammoth lakes and Mono Lake. Look these up for more info on nps.gov (national park service). We spent a little time in Vegas for a soft bed and good food

Thanks Eddie, I'm a big fan of your movies.

Not sure about AZ, Comanche ridge seems like not sustained 5th class...

Leviathan Dome? Baboquivari? Grand Canyon Obscurity? Something in Vermillion Cliffs?

I agree that Comanche looks to be stair stepped and perhaps zig-zaggy, akin to a mountaineering route. It may be a great adventure route but I think that when you speak of the longest rock climb, I think that it should be fairly close to a plumb line and be sustained, technical rock climbing.

For the longest sustained line - I will throw out the routes on South/East side of the Tooth. The Lost Love Route (Spencer McIntire & George Bain) is around 1600 feet but wanders a bit more than the routes to the east (Banditios/et al. & Albert Newman/Ward Johnson) which are about 1400.  I am not sure how that compares to Babo and Leviathan though.  And I am almost certain there is a Canyon Obscura Route in the Grand out there that is more sustained than Comanche.  I would love to learn about it if it exists.  If one does not exist, someone should go bring one into this world.

Day tripping at Eagle Point Butteess? I’ve been thinking about this question as of late because I feel like I’ve heard there’s taller climbing elsewhere in the state.

The gunks traverse aka great wall of china is over 9,000 feet long and traverses the entirety of the trapps, making it one of the longest rock climbs in the world.

Those on the tooth are longer than what’s on Babo/leviathan. In the GC I have heard rumors of a Tommy Cauldwell route that goes at 5.11 kitty litter, but haven’t seen other info about it.

800 feet. The description says it's one of the biggest features in the Grand.  I guided for many years in the big ditch and can say there are quite a few features that are equaly as big and a hellofa lot prettier down there. I always looked at that buttress and wondered what the hell they were thinking when they picked that piece of rock with so much rock to choose from. It looks atrocious.

Holy smokes - you could have a new worlds-longest if you climbed it sideways
