Great deals on bolts, hangers, and other hardware

Jim Daywrote: I would assume the 12mm 316 hanger is the same thing as the 1/2 inch one. Trekkinn is a European site, so it's not surprising that it's in metric. |

Alex Rwrote: Almost definitely mislabeled and not stainless. |

Does anyone have good deals for some 8mm bolts? SS or otherwise. Thanks! |

Alex Rwrote: Maybe, it's hard to say since there's obvious issues with trekkin's listing. But Fixe's website does distinguish between hangers meant for 12mm and hangers meant for 1/2": https://fixehardware.com/index.php/fixe-ps-12-mm-bolt-hanger.html https://fixehardware.com/index.php/fixe-ps-1-2-bolt-hanger-2.html I only have Fixe's PS 3/8 BOLT HANGER (which actually measures ~ 10mm) and Fixe's older non-conical 1/2 hangers in 304 (~13.1mm) and PLX (~12.8mm) on hand, so idk what the actual size difference between fixe's 12mm and 1/2 conical ps hangers are. You could try ordering the qty 20 from trekkin first: but with shipping, it's not a great deal. I ordered those qty 20 petzl coeurs from oliunid last week and am waiting for them to arrive |

Fan Ywrote: What are you using them for? You can get ¼” button heads and ¼” wedges for really cheap from construction supply sites and ebay. Both in ss and plated. Also boxes of the hilti m8 wedges are often cheap on eBay. Hope you have a specific use in mind or you’re going to replace them with something beefier later |

Mr Rogerswrote: I looked at those 8mm bolts from Raumer but they seem to indicate that they shouldn’t be used in granite on their web site. Which is a little weird as I’ve always read that wedge bolts are for hard rock. Anyone know why these wouldn’t be recommended for use in granite?

Brian Rwrote: According to Jim Titt, "It's that the two small bent out corners that provide the initial engagement get blunted by hard rock and the bolt doesn't hook up, soft rock they can just slide through. I've used Italian made bolts with this clip design over 20 years ago and gave up with them." https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/122351632/raumer-wedge-anchors#ForumMessage-122353522 |
