I've been trying to decipher the driving beta on South Sixshooter page

Do these look like approximately the correct directions? https://caltopo.com/m/QCKR

One should turn off at: 38.152515, -109.627607 and then continue driving straight south for 3 miles? Is this route passable with ~8" clearance and AWD, not 4WD?

I should NOT turn off at 38.149748, -109.619325 nor at 38.1125, -109.6018, correct?

I just added a track with driving directions (and a more direct approach) to the page.  You'll be fine in your Outback.

Can be sections of deep sand on that drive.

I remember parking further around the west side. Just keep going all the way around. There's a few trails to the top, if you find what looks like a decent parking area at any spot, there's probably a pathway. The pin here had a few RVs camped and a very well cairned trail. The road in is as you have illustrated, just keep in mind you go around the east side and then wrap around the south side of the sixshooter so stick with whatever wash looks like it will take you there and follow existing tire tracks for guidance. We made it in a Hyundai santa fe with no problem.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
