The Snaz

Almost positive I'm right, as I've done the route twice.  The Snazette crack variation is hard to mistake!  I will post in another hour or so if I don't hear back soon.  I know I'm a couple hours ahead of the Front Range.

Would agree. There goes another route I've done that I didn't recognize.

Yep, Liberty Crack!  P3.  You're up, RPC.

Yup, good work Will.

Liberty Crack.  Looks like P3 or 4 maybe?

OK, if it's confirmed, here's my submission.

Will correct - the free bit above the bolt ladder...now at the base of Baron.

Looks kinda like.  My role here is to confirm victory.

SE Face of Old Smoothie (RIP)?

Sad I never got on that one. I was on the Finger of Fate Aug. 2019!

Anyway, here’s my next submission (it's next to a very popular climb, not in the US):

Anyone???

It's also non-descript to the point of being hard to see.
I looked at it and shrugged. How does one guess something like that?
I suppose by going to your tick list, etc... but it's not an iconic image.

Some additional suggestions:
1) Of course nobody can stop anybody from cheating with google match or checking someone's tick list, but that's not really any fun, is it?
3) It's supposed to be fun, not impossible. Some obscure pic of a route behind the local garbage dump isn't going to be any fun because nobody can guess it.

Just Sayin...

And I should have added (and will):
4) Make sure that the lighting, angle, and scope of your picture is sufficient to be clear and distinct.

I'd agree that it's not iconic, (neither the perspective, nor the pitch) but do think that it's fairly distinct.  I'm sure if I'd climbed the pitch before I'd have figured it out.  Based on the foliage, I was thinking somewhere Scandinavian, (Bohuslan, Lofoten, etc.) so wasn't really too far off, but didn't have a way to narrow it further.  I think the real problem here is that no one travels to the UK to climb.  Regardless of why no one is figuring it out, it kinda feels like no one is figuring it out, so it might be worth it to toss out a new one here soon.

Fair enough, I agree this one was a bit obscure. Here is a picture of the route next to it and the general crag. Hopefully this should make it pretty obvious if you follow UK climbing at all:

Yep.  The really popular route the guy in red is climbing is Comes the Dervish.  This is at Vivian Quarry in the slate quarries outside Llanberis.  Also featured in the picture is Gin Palace.  Here is a cool video of Alex Honnold and Hazel Findlay climbing these routes.  The route I was on is just to the right of Comes the Dervish, it's called Last Tango in Paris.

People are sleeping on the UK and Ireland!  The British Isles are very much a worthy climbing destination!

I guess whomever sees this first (rpc or JCM) can go next.

That definitely includes Scotland!  I've only spent a week there, but I'm psyched to get back and explore the climbing in the Highlands!  I lived in Ireland off and on for a few years, and I climbed a bit in the south of Ireland and in North Wales.  North Wales is a true gem!  So much climbing, several different rock types, beautiful landscapes...what more could you ask for?!

Is that a slate quarry?   Something in Wales then?

"The British Isles are very much a worthy climbing destination! "

There's so much unique stuff to climb there, esp. if you include Scotland (sea stacks...yuuum!).

JCM should go - I was just fishing.

Somewhere slatey in Llanberis.

We'll come back to this side of the pond.

Note: Not my photo; acquired from MP. If you dig into the database enough to find the photo, you'd have gotten close enough that it isn't really cheating.

It's Only Entertainment. Haven't climbed it, but have climbed next to it many times.

LOL, is that a climber on the skyline?  Somewhere in JT, let's guess Loose Lady based on the setting sun.
